Celebrating the 2024 Neonatal Neurocritical Care Diplomates

The Newborn Brain Society (NBS) proudly congratulates the inaugural diplomates in Neonatal Neurocritical Care, certified by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS). This landmark achievement follows the first-ever Neonatal Neurocritical Care (NNCC) certification examination, held in November 2024, marking a pivotal step forward in advancing this subspecialty.

We are especially honored that many of these newly certified diplomates are NBS members, whose expertise and dedication exemplify our shared commitment to improving newborn brain care worldwide.

This accomplishment is a culmination of NBS’s leadership in establishing formal accreditation for NNCC fellowship training programs. In August 2022, the NBS NNCC Accreditation Task Force successfully secured UCNS approval, creating a standardized pathway for training and certification in this evolving field. The November 2024 certification examination, which welcomed applications earlier this year, represents the first opportunity for specialists to achieve formal recognition in Neonatal Neurocritical Care.

Congratulations to all diplomates for their groundbreaking achievement and their dedication to advancing neonatal neurocritical care!
