Dr. Pia Wintermark is a neonatologist and clinician-scientist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital and Professor of Pediatrics at McGill University. Her translational research program focuses on understanding, preventing, and repairing brain injury in critically ill newborns, with particular expertise in hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Her work integrates advanced neonatal neuroimaging, experimental research, and clinical trials to develop and evaluate innovative neuroprotective and neurorestorative therapies. She is actively engaged in national and international collaborations aimed at advancing neonatal care and improving outcomes for newborns affected by hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
